Career OpportunitiesSo, you wanna be a teacher? Alright, if you can tell us what's wrong with that first sentence then perhaps you have a chance at joining our team cool
Ok, all seriousness aside, teaching online is different from teaching in the classroom but is just as rewarding. While you'll find more freedom than teaching in the traditional classroom, the challenges you'll face are similar yet not the same. Keeping your learners engaged and motivated will be the biggest challenge to overcome and if you can do that, then welcome to our team!

Here's what we look for in our team members:
  • A sense of humor
  • A positive outlook on life in general and teaching specifically
  • Innovation in the classroom
  • Knowledge of Web 2.0 technologies and how to apply them to a virtual classroom
  • Teaching experience - preferably online but not a show stopper if this is your first venture into distance learning
  • A teaching certificate or license is preferred but not required*
  • A desire to help as many students succeed as possible
  • A willingness to try new things
  • A knowledge of learning theories and how they come into play in a virtual environment is helpful
  • *A minimum of a bachelor's degree in the subject area(s) in which you wish to teach or, a bachelor's degree in general education with a minimum of eighteen graduate hours in the subject area(s) in which you wish to teach
  • Fluent in English (reading, writing, speaking)
If this sounds like the career for you, then we invite you to send a cover letter telling us which grade level(s) you'd like to teach and your salary requirements, resume or curriculum vitae, all college transcripts, at least three professional references and two personal references to the academy director, Dr. Robert Smith
